I Don’t Need You
“I Don’t Need You.”
Every entity needs a slogan! Yeah, I’m sure that’s written in more than a few of the marketing text books I was forced to purchase during my college education with my major in public relations. Well, maybe not quite stated like that, but you get the idea.
I needed a slogan, a snarky, sarcastic tag that harkens back to my roots in hardcore. So, what is DIY all about? Doing stuff on your own. Not needing anyone or thing to do what you feel you have to do (and I don’t care if its write a zine, play in a band, put out records, write books, write code, build engines, whatever).
The tag line or slogan just sums up the attitude it requires to engage in DIY stuff. You just have to be able to say “I don’t need you.” Yeah, the “you” is figurative, and yeah, DIY projects are often group efforts, gimmie a break already! heh.
